20 February 2015

Most people are well aware of the conventional cleaning methods, such as dusting and vacuuming, yet despite knowing what to do, many people still don’t get the results that they are so desperately after. We can provide you with some additional cleaning tips that you are guaranteed to be happy with. Give your house a new look and turn it into an area that you can be proud to call your own. You may never have thought about doing what we are going to suggest, but heed our advice, put in a little bit of time and effort, and give your rooms the new lease of life that they are crying out for.

1.    Clean your walls and ceilings.
During a clean, people often neglect to clean walls, ceilings and painted surfaces, worried that it might ruin the paint or cause it to fade. If you rub too hard, then yes, it may cause some damage, but simply dabbing and gently wiping at walls is a great way to remove dirt and dust. Use a clean cloth or sponge and dampen with some warm water. A tiny bit of washing up liquid can be added, but ensure it’s relatively mild so that it doesn’t strip away or soften the paint.

2.    Make your windows sparkle!
A dirty window can have an effect on the amount of natural sunlight that can shine into your room. A well lit room bathed in natural sunlight can pick up and enhance the entire demeanour of your room so it’s well worth giving your windows a quick clean. There’s no need to go out and buy any fancy products for the job either! Use a clean cloth and dip into a solution of water and washing up liquid or soap. Then wipe down your windows, whilst paying attention to those areas with the most dirt. After leaving for 5 minutes or so, rinse off the suds with warm water and dry using a clean cloth. For the best results and if possible, clean your windows both inside and out, as it is the outside that would accumulate the most dirt and stains.

3.    Take care of stains and spillages.
Stains on your furniture, upholstery or carpets can really have an adverse effect on the appearance of your house, making it look shabby and unappealing to yourself and visitors alike.  Upholstery cleaning, sofa and carpet cleaning can be tackled using a multi stain remover. Cheap and very effective, these cleaners often come with easy to follow instructions and will most likely be in the form of a foam or a powder that that can be applied to the affected area or made up into a solution with water. But be sure to read the instructions carefully, because if applied or made up incorrectly, the solution could cause more harm than good, and may cause discolouration or even cause the stain to become even more deep set. If nothing seems to work, call a cleaning agency and get the professional cleaners in to handle the job. With their industrial cleaning equipment and top of the range products, they’re sure to know exactly what to do.

4.    Clean your hard flooring.
Hard floor cleaning can be tackled using a soapy water solution and clean cloth. Ensure the cloth is slightly damp before giving your floors a wipe down. Any dirt will stick to the cloth, which you can then clean and use again. If you are fortunate enough to possess a steam cleaner, this will also work wonders for your hard floors.
